We built the resource we needed on the worst day of our creator life.
One morning, a channel built over years was gone. One email, one policy name, no video, no warning. What followed taught us exactly what works – and how many people try to profit from creators in that moment.
Our story
ChannelTerminated was started by the team behind kanalgesperrt.de, the German-language resource for terminated YouTube channels. It began with our own case: a news channel, terminated without warning for “spam, deceptive practices and scams”. In Germany, a court granted an injunction 13 days later – without a hearing – and the platform had to bear the costs.
That route exists in Germany. It does not exist in the same way in the US, the UK or India. When we looked at what English-speaking creators find after a termination, we saw two things: official help pages that explain the rules but not the strategy, and a market full of “recovery agents” asking for passwords and promising guaranteed unbans.
So we built what was missing: an independent, sourced, honest guide to every legitimate path back – by termination reason, by niche and by country – plus tools that run in your browser and two products for creators who want the complete system.
How we work
- Sources first. Every page cites YouTube’s Help Center, statutes, regulators or court decisions – and shows when it was last checked.
- Honest about limits. If a route rarely works (for example suing YouTube in the US), we say so.
- No access to your account. Our products are guides and templates you use yourself.
- Corrections are public. Found an error? Tell us; we fix it and update the date.
Read our full editorial policy and how we make money.
- Ask for your password or 2-step codesNo legitimate helper needs access to your Google account to file or improve an appeal.
- Claim “contacts inside YouTube”Nobody can buy you a reinstatement. Anyone who says so is lying or breaking YouTube's rules.
- Promise a guaranteed reinstatementOnly YouTube or a court can restore a channel. We show you every legitimate path, in the right order.
- Help you evade a banCreating channels to get around a termination makes things worse. We explain the rules instead of breaking them.
- Pretend to be a law firmWe are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. Where you need one, we tell you – and what to ask.
- Show fake reviews or fake numbersNo invented success rates, no stock-photo testimonials. Every claim on this site is sourced.
