Appeal deadline calculator
Enter the date of the decision and see every deadline that applies to you – as real dates, with reminders for your calendar.
General rules as of October 2026 – not legal advice. Always act well before a deadline.
What does the deadline calculator do?
It turns the date on YouTube’s email into concrete calendar dates. Three kinds of clocks start when that email arrives: YouTube’s own windows (the termination appeal, Partner Program appeals, strike expiry), legal time limits where you live (the EU’s Digital Services Act, India’s IT Rules) and practical deadlines such as evidence that disappears. It shows every rule that applies to your decision type and country, sorted by date with the days left, and exports the dates with a seven-day reminder.
Which deadlines does it use?
All windows are taken from YouTube’s Help Center, EU and Indian rules and US copyright law as of October 2026. YouTube changes its pages often without a changelog entry – check the source before relying on a date that is close.
| Decision | Window or rule | Counted from | Source |

| Partner Program suspension – appeal | Within 21 days of the suspension | Suspension email | YouTube Help 9564590 |
| Announced (scheduled) suspension – appeal | Within the 7 days before the scheduled date; monetization continues until the decision; no second appeal | Notice | YouTube Help 9564590 |
| Partner Program appeal – decision | YouTube says it responds within 14 days; re-application possible 90 days after a suspension or rejection | Appeal / decision | YouTube Help 9564590 |
| Community Guidelines warning or strike – appeal | 6 months; each strike can be appealed only once | Date issued | YouTube Help 185111 |
| Removed video, post, playlist or thumbnail – appeal | Up to 1 year | Removal | YouTube Help 185111 |
| Community Guidelines strike – expiry | 90 days; deleting the content does not remove the strike | Date issued | YouTube Help 2802032 |
| Warning – expiry | 90 days after you complete the optional policy training | Training completed | YouTube Help 2802032 |
| Copyright strike – expiry | 90 days, only if you complete Copyright School and have fewer than three strikes | Date issued | YouTube Help 2814000 |
| Scheduled copyright removal | Delete the content within 7 days to avoid the strike | Notice | YouTube Help 2814000 |
| Counter notification | The claimant has 10 US business days to show a lawsuit; the statute sets restoration at 10 to 14 business days | Receipt of the counter notification | YouTube Help 2807684; 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) |
| Content ID dispute | The claimant has 30 days to respond; after an appeal, 7 days | Dispute filed | YouTube Help 2797454 |
| Disabled Google account – appeal | Up to two appeals | — | Google Account Help 40695 |
| Hacked channel – support | Only for incidents within the past 9 months | Incident | YouTube Help 76187 |
| EU: internal complaint (DSA Art. 20) | At least 6 months, free of charge, not decided solely by automated means | Notification of the decision | Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 |
| EU: out-of-court dispute settlement (DSA Art. 21) | Decision within 90 days (180 if complex); Appeals Centre Europe: decisions no older than 6 months, no user fee, EU residents only; Google says it is not bound by the outcome | Decision | Regulation (EU) 2022/2065; ACE FAQs |
| EU: urgent court relief | The tool’s rule of thumb: act within about a month – some courts (for example in Germany) treat longer waiting as a sign the matter is not urgent. Ask a local lawyer early. | Decision | Editorial rule of thumb, not a statute |
| India: grievance officer | Acknowledge within 24 hours, resolve within 7 days (since February 2026; 15 days before) | Grievance received | IT Rules 2021, Rule 3(2)(a)(i) |
| India: Grievance Appellate Committee | Appeal within 30 days of the grievance officer’s decision; the GAC aims to decide within 30 days | Grievance decision | IT Rules 2021, Rule 3A |
The calculator shows only the rows that match your selection. For India it assumes you file the grievance on the day of the decision and that the officer decides on day seven, so the GAC date appears as day 37.
Worked example
A creator in Spain receives a termination email dated September 15, 2026. The tool lists: the last day for a termination appeal and the earliest Second Chances request, both September 15, 2027; the DSA internal complaint, available at least until March 15, 2027; the dispute-body cut-off around the same date; and the urgent-court-relief rule of thumb, October 15, 2026. On October 10, 2026 the summary reads “Today is day 25 after the decision”. Our EU guide explains each route.
A US creator removed from the Partner Program on October 1, 2026 sees two rows: the appeal deadline of October 22, 2026 (21 days) and, if the appeal fails, the earliest re-application on December 30, 2026 (90 days). The monetization appeal guide covers the video appeal format.
What the tool cannot do
- It counts calendar days from the date you enter. It does not know when exactly YouTube issued the decision, and business-day rules (counter notifications) are approximated.
- It cannot tell you whether a route applies to you – Appeals Centre Europe, for example, excludes circumvention and linked-account cases and automated spam decisions.
- Courts decide urgency case by case; the one-month rule of thumb is a planning aid, not a law.
- General information, not legal advice: for anything that depends on a legal time limit, talk to a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. The guides on strike appeals, India’s grievance route and Second Chances cover the details behind each row.
Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to appeal a YouTube channel termination?
As of October 2026, YouTube’s Help Center allows appeals up to one year after a channel termination, with at most two appeals in that year. Do not wait for the last day: evidence disappears and other routes have much shorter time limits. The calculator shows the dates for your situation.
Does the calculator save my data?
No. It runs in your browser. The calendar file (.ics) is created on your device.
Are these deadlines legally binding?
They reflect YouTube’s published rules and general legal time limits as of October 2026. Platforms change their rules, and courts decide urgency case by case. Check critical dates against the official source or with a lawyer.
